Students from the free, afterschool CONNECT program at the Highland Falls Intermediate School visited West Point’s MWR on a recent field trip – they were there to learn about what military police do. In addition to doing things like exploring the MP’s equipment (like handcuffs, flak jackets and Ghillie suits), they talked with the soldiers about their ceremonial duties, including how to properly fold American flags. The children also solved an important mystery, figuring out who stole candy from a candy jar! CONNECT is provided for third through eighth graders by West Point’s Association of Graduates.
