USMA NASA Student Launch Team Visits CONNECT

Cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point visited CONNECT Friday to share their interest in space. These Cadets are part of the West Point NASA Student Launch Team who will be competing at the NASA Student Launch competition in Alabama in April with their rocket. This visit, however, focused on how to return rockets to the Earth. Using parachutes of all shapes and differing weights students learned the power of air, canopy, creating a “structured wing,” and how the rate of descent can vary.

Thank you to our West Point friends for a fun day of activities. Students also loved taking home their own ARMY Parachute figure. We wish the USMA NASA Student Launch Team the best of luck in Alabama! GO ARMY! Beat NAVY!
