CONNECT’s first “Fun Friday” was “Show Your Colors!” a Tropical Bird Assembly. At CONNECT we strive to feed children’s instinctive yearning for nature and exploration. The opportunity to interact with other species at a young age encourages them to value the role of animals and discover how they enhance our lives and contribute to the ecosystem. On Friday, September 15th our Gold and Maroon teams gathered in the HFIS gymnasium to learn about beautiful and fascinating tropical birds. Students learned about the huge responsibility of owning and caring for a bird, as some varieties may live 50-100 years. All students also had the opportunity to come up close and meet their feathered friends.
