They are confident leaders. They are responsible and set a good example. They include others, help classmates and show respect. They work together with classmates, listen and help CONNECT succeed. Those reasons – plus others – are why this particular group of students serves as the current ‘ambassadors’ for the program. When visitors stop by, these are the children who show them around and answer questions about the program.
CONNECT is the free, afterschool program at the Highland Falls Intermediate School provided by West Point’s Association of Graduates. As an FYI: CONNECT students have had a choice of some of the following courses this semester: sculpting, Lego Lab, languages, outdoor sports, cheerleading, magic smart art/STEAM, cooking/culinary and gardening. Students take different classes each day, rotating days, and Fridays are for special events, typically with USMA cadets. All students also take ELA, math or homework help.
