Connect, the free after-school program for Highland Falls Intermediate School students hosted by West Point’s Association of Graduates, held the first ever ‘Hudson Valley Welcome’ fair on Main St. in Highland Falls on Monday, June 30. It was ‘R-Day’ at West Point, the day new cadets at the U.S. Military Academy and their families arrive in the community. The premise was to provide a place for the families to go in the time between dropping off their new cadets and then attending their first parade. Also, organizers hoped that local families would stop by to learn more about CONNECT. Food trucks and vendors were on hand, making it a desirable mid-day stop for all.
