Friday, November 7th CONNECT students learned about Veterans Day with their West Point Army Community Engagement (ACE) Friends. They attended a “fire-side chat” to ask questions and learn more about honoring Veterans and the United States of America. Together they made a new flag for the Highland Falls Intermediate School made out of paper chains. CONNECT students sent a thank you home with the USMA Cadets — a flag made with their hand prints and signatures to be hung in West Point’s Thayer Hall. All students were given American flags, a card describing the symbolism of the flag (50 stars = 50 states, 13 stripes = 13 colonies) and a red, white, and blue lollypop.
